Our Comeback Gig in Alice Park

It had been far too long, but on Sunday 17th October 2021, after all of the disruption of the pandemic we finally made a return to live performing with a free concert in Alice Park. And here is a clip:

We were a bit worried about getting rained off, but our friends at the Alice Park Cafe provided us with cover and the sun was shining like a warm spring day.

  • Cars, Gary Numan
  • Living for the City, Stevie Wonder
  • I Shot the Sheriff, Bob Marley
  • Chameleon, Herbie Hancock
  • Naima, John Coltrane
  • More Than This, Roxy Music
  • Where Are We Now?, David Bowie
  • Rosanna, Toto
  • Titanium, Sia

A new logo for the BathTub Orchestra

We would like to thank Mytton Williams , a local brand and design agency based in the historic city of Bath, for designing a new brand and logo for the BathTub Orchestra. They created a professional design brief which identified key traits of the orchestra to include in the new logo, and provided us with three options. After a short discussion with part of the orchestra, we gave them feedback and they quickly made a few small tweaks. We are very happy with the end result. We've already started using the new logo on this website, social media, and posters that you may have seen around town. We've also bought a new banner featuring the logo which you'll see at our next gig at Bath Vegan Festival this Saturday at noon. It also folds up really small! We are the BathTub Orchestra, a friendly community orchestra in Bath that plays everything from pop songs to classical favourites. If you want to join us or find out more about us, please visit our website or follow us on social me...

New music for Autumn 2019

After five weeks off for summer, we're back with weekly rehearsals, new songs and getting ready for a Christmas concert. Writing a few days after our first rehearsal since the summer break, this post introduces the latest music of BathTub Orchestra. Dusting off that instrument Five weeks feels like such a long time so I was really looking forward to picking up my bass guitar and rehearsing with everybody again (I confess I spent far more time relaxing on holiday than playing during the break). While most of us were enjoying our summer holidays, our musical director Edward had been hard at work arranging our latest new pieces... On Her Majesty's Secret Service We already have Mission Impossible in our repertoire, so it's exciting to add another classic theme tune. Composed by John Barry, this is the only Bond theme which is completely instrumental and I think it sounded pretty good during our first run through. We Have All The Time In The World This ballad was featured in th...

The BathTub Orchestra go camping

Rain, Rounders, and Rafter-Raising Music! Well, what a weekend for the BathTub Orchestra! Our recent camping trip to Devon was an epic mix of classic British weather, incredible music, and the kind of community spirit that makes being a BathTubber truly special. It all kicked off on Friday with a proper West Country welcome: relentless, heavy rain. But did that dampen our spirits? Absolutely not! As one BathTubber put it, we were "chatting and drinking beer till late on Friday night, with the rain thundering down on Megan's awning, with a few other people crazy enough to have chosen to sleep in a field on an exposed hillside." That's dedication for you! It was clear from the get-go that "being a BathTubber extends way beyond being a member of an orchestra. The BathTub Orchestra has grown into a community with a unity, an importance, greater (I imagine) than the founders ever conceived." Saturday saw us head to Lyme Regis for our first performance. The skies ...
